Dedicated
to the identification, evaluation and reporting of severe weather, SKYWARN
is composed of volunteers trained by the National
Weather Service to report to the NWS and local Emergency
Government Agencies with "ground truth" observations
of severe weather. Skywarn volunteers can be Police Officers, Fire/Rescue
Responders, Ham Radio Operators or anyone else motivated to provide timely
and accurate observations of impending severe weather events.
