Pembroke Fancy Dan, CGC, TD - Owned & Handled by Katrene Johnson

Dan, as shown above, was featured on the cover of Springer Express in the Spring 2001 issue. Katrene is active with the West Jersey K-9 Search & Rescue. Dan has responded to over 150 calls during his search carrer. After getting Lyme disease, he was retired, only to be brought back into service as a cadaver dog. Dan has also been training Katrene's next SAR dog:

Invited by officials after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, the West Jersey K-9 Search and Rescue organization sent two of their teams. One team was Morgan, a certified forensic dog, and her owner Katrene Johnson. They're using her search and rescue training on Staten Island, at Fresh Kills Landfill, where rubble is being hauled from Ground Zero. She is working long hours with heart and soul, and Katrene has all good things to say about this wonderful little doggie-- who, like others we've seen on TV, refused breaks, preferring to continue with her job.
