I'm a lot of things. The sum of my parts? Perhaps.
FTM. Transgendered. AIDS Educator. Queer. Gender Bender. Pervert. HIV Caregiver. Trannyfag. Passionate Political Organizer.
The long and short of it is that I'm a transfag who is roughly 5 years into transitioning from female-to-male--1 year of heavy thought, before 4 years on hormones and living "full time" for most of the past 4+ years. I'm devoted to educating FTMs, MTFs, SOs, Parents, Friends, Therapist, Physicians, Society--and anyone who will listen--about FTMs and Transgenderism. Many people have a lot of misconceptions about FTMs; about who we are, what's involved in transitioning; what options are available to us--medically, legally, socially; where we end up; how we live; who we sleep with; what we want out of life. While every FTM is unique, there are some similarities among us. I continually fight for all of us to be able to express ourselves in the way(s) we feel most comfortable.
I'm a long time caregiver for people living (and often dying) with HIV/AIDS. I've lost way too many friends over the past 10 years... But I feel fortunate for the gifts each of my friends with HIV has given me: Insight. Compassion. Friendship. Love. Please feel free to visit my Wall of Remembrance.
