This probably needs a little set up. This web page came to be because I had a very dull job at the UW Madison (however, the location, the Red Gym, was lovely). Each day I would answer calls, enter data, and go slowly crazy. I was not alone. I worked with Barbie.

Barbie and I were not peas in a pod. I often wondered what color the sky was in her world, or why tube tops seemed like a good idea to her. But lo, we were in a cube together and we damned well had to get along. While I taught myself basic HTML and began downloading painting programs to play with, my co-worker, Barbie, web searched. Thus began the morning ritual of reading all of our horoscopes (…and passion scopes, and eroto-scopes…), placing on-line personals, reading the latest news and sending her friends on-line Freddie Prinze JR postcards.
