Prez Message
Jazz Unlimited's Spring Concert held on May 17th at the Steinway Piano Gallery was a treat to attend.
The Frank De Miles Trio with Larry Tresp and Leo Tato provided the setting while Matt Brooks, Guitarist: Ian Haegele, Bassist: Sam Neufeld, Trumpet and Dylan Ovanin, Saxophonist were showcased. These four talented young musicians were recipients of 2009 Jazz Unlimited Scholarship awards. Rounding out the program were Special Guest Vocalists Sue Russell and Peter Lange. What a group mix of musical talent.
The program opener, Perdido set the pace with other selection including Lover Man, Ipanema, Up Jumped Spring, Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Night Train, How High the Moon, Blue Bossa and the Program Closer, C Jam Blues.
Jazz Unlimited will continue each year to showcase our talented young musicians, awarding scholarships to the competing high school youth in the Greater Milwaukee Area. Your help and support go a long way in helping us promote the preservation, enhancement and encouragement of America's purest art form, Jazz. Domenic
