Q: How do I know when I need to replace the tachometer filter?

A: Many times the tach filters on GM cars corrode/disintegrate over time.  If your tach seems to jump all over the place randomly, you may need to replace the tach filter.  Or, if your tach is not functional at all, you may need to replace the tach filter.  Take a look in the engine compartment, and see. Many times the wires to this filter are corroded, missing, or the tach filter itself looks as if it's melting.  In many cases, my replacement tach filter fixes this problem.

Q: Where is the tach filter located?

A: The tach filter is circled in the picture below.  It's a small (usually black or grey) canister with a wire coming from each end.

Q: How do I install my OEM-look replacement tach filter?

A:  Installation is a simple procedure. Simply unbolt the old tach filter, disconnect the ends from the old tach filter, connect the old ends to the new tach filter, bolt in place, and plug in. If you prefer, you can wire the replacement directly in by cutting and splicing the wires.

Q: Why would I want the custom-look filter instead of the OEM-Look model?

A:  The custom-look filter is designed for the Corvette owner that wants to save a few dollars and clean up their engine compartment appearance. My custom-look tach filter is very tiny and can be hidden inside a wire harness loom. Simply disconnect the old filter, plug or splice the new wires in place, and hide it under the nearest wire loom. You won't even remember it is there... except when you look at your tach gage, and see it works!

Q: How do I install my custom-look replacement tach filter?

A:  Installation is a simple procedure. Simply disconnect the ends from the old tach filter, and wire mine directly in. You can cut and splice the wires if you prefer and then even "hide" the replacement as I explained above.

As with all my products, excellent rebuild instructions are included with every order.
