My Visit to Houston

Houston is an excelent city to visit n the south. It is one of my favorite southern cities because there are so many places to visit. I went to the Houston Holocaust Museum, the Bayou Wildlife Park, and one of baseballs newest parks, Enron Field, home of the Astros.
Bayou Wildlife Park
Bayou Wildlife Park is another one of those great places to take the kids becase it is both fun and educational. You take a tram through the 86 acres of the park and view the more than 400 animals while you hear a talk from the guide. You can see many exotic wild animals, including a white rhino, Malaysian gaur, ring-tailed lemurs, and a camel. There are many other animals you can see and get a learn a whole deal about at the park. It is a very fun place to go to outside of the city.
Enron Field

Enron Field is one of the many new ball parks debuting this year. It is the new home of the Houston Astros. This 42,000 seat stadium with a retractable roof cost over 245 milion dollars to have built in 1998. The stadium features a retractable roof that only takes 20 minuets to close, a state-of-the-art sound system and scoreboard, air conditioning when the roof is closed, and much more. Enron Field is truly on of the best stadiums in baseball today.
Houston Holocaust Museum

The Holocaust Museum in Houston is much like the one in Washington D.C. As soon as you walk through the doors you feel how the millions of Jews felt in the concentration camps of the Holocaust. Over 180.000 people have visited the museum since it first opened in 1996. You can see Art Spiegelman's Pulitzer Prize-winning comic-book's which are based on the story of his parents who survived one of the worst concentration camps, Auschwitz. The museum provides an excelent educational experience for all of the people who visit it. You will probably leave the museum with a tear in your eye when you find out what these people had to go through. It is a truly moving experience.
