Twin Cities (St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota)

My Visit to the Twin Cities

St. Paul and Minneapolis are two cities that are right next to each other and are very similar. That is why they are called the Twin Cities. I had a fun time in these two cities when I visited the Mall of America, Landmark Center, and Valleyfair Amusement Park .

The Landmark Center

The Landmark Center is a fun historical site to visit in St. Paul. Built in 1902 it originally served as the Federal Court House and Post Office for the Upper Midwest. In 1970, though, it was about to be torn down, but some determined citizens who realized the importance of the historic site saved it from being torn down and in 1978 it was designated a National Historic Monument and reopened to the public as Landmark Center. I found this to be a very interesting place to visit and had much fun.

Valleyfair Amusement Park

Valleyfair is the largest amusement park in the Midwest. This amusement park provided me with an time and memories for a lifetime. There are many fun rides and other things to do here. There are many water rides, a train to see the sites, many special activities for children, and, my favorite, many exciting thrill rides. My favorite rides were the newest ride, Power Tower, Wild Thing, and Excalibur. Power Tower is a 275 foot tall ride that takes you up slowly to the top and unexpectedly drops you down to the bottom. You experience three seconds of weightlessness! It is a very thrilling ride. I also liked Wild Thing which is just a regular roller coaster, but it is very exciting. You start out with a 207 foot drop and then ride for three minutes going 74 miles per hour - very fun. Excalibur is just a traditional wooden rollercoaster, but it is very fun. It starts out with a 100 foot drop, then you ride for over two minutes in excess of 50 miles per hour. Valleyfair is a very fun park, and I had a great time.

Mall of America

The Mall of America provides some very fun times for the family. My family definitely had a great time visiting the hundreds of stores at Minnesota's top attraction. Not only are there many stores, but there are restraunts, an aquarium, a movie theater, and even a whole theme park! You can have wonderful meal at the Rainforest Cafe, and many other great restraunts. At Underwater Adventures on the east side of the mall, you can see over 3,000 animals, including the largest collection of sharks in the Midwest. You can also see the latest movies at the mall's 14 screen theater. But probably the best attraction in the mall is Camp Snoopy. It is the world's largest indoor theme park. There is a ferris wheel, and even a full rollercoaster. I had a wonderful time at the Mall of America, and so did the rest of my family.
