How to Make Cheap and Durable Furniture for Children's Dollhouses
Real dollhouse furniture can be very pricey, and very fragile, so my ingenious mother made furniture for my first dollhouse by herself. It is cheap and durable, yes, but it is also adorable and fun to play with (you know, for little kids, I don't play with it anymore
J)

Over the next few months, I hope to offer some tips here for making dollhouse furniture. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to include any tips along with this update, but just scroll down to take a look for yourself. Obviously, this stuff isn't foolproof, but if you save everything (as we do at my house), you're likely to find exactly the supplies you need.

If you need advice (or ideas) about making dollhouse furniture and accessories for your children, don't hesitate to email me. I'd be happy to help!

I was digging around in the basement and found some of the furniture my mother made for my first dollhouse (when I was three years old). The chairs shown here are made from cut PVC pipes, with hand-sewn heart cushions :).

More homemade furniture, the bed frame is made from Q-Tips, and the night table is a detergent cap. Pretty inventive, if I do say so myself.
