Superman #18 - Metopolis is invaded by real Nazis during planned war games. Luthor tries to fry Metropolis with a giant heat ray. The mysterious Man With a Cane tries to steal military secrets. The costumed character The Snake tries to sabotage the Holloway Tunnel.
Superman #19 - Funny Face battles Superman with comic strip characters come to life. After his car is buried in a landslide, Clark believes he has been transported to another world. A stray dog that befriends Clark is abducted and leads Superman to the mysterious Mr. Z. Lois and Clark go to the movies and see a Superman cartoon (touted by DC as the "first" imaginary story)..
Superman #20 - Clark is forced to "pretend" to be Superman after The Planet accidentally reveals his identity. Hitler uses a sea serpent to disrupt allied shipping. Superman's biggest fan tries to emulate his idol as "Herman the Heroic". The Puzzler tries to kill champion card players.
