Information
Charlene is an attorney, specializing in real estate law,
and worked for
as in-house real estate counsel. More recently (since
our baby (now 5 years old) was born) her career has become tightly focused on
caring for our daughter, and while the hours are almost three times longer every day, and
she works every weekend, it is most important work and we hope it is and will remain as
rewarding as her previous employment.
Recent developments
Charlene has recently taken an upholstery class, and has succeeded in re-doing a two-piece couch that has been in the Paik/Olsen family since at least Chris was a child. They were quality furniture pieces when purchased new, and had been re-covered once since then. Now, the wood has been stripped and stained, and the old upholstery removed and re-done. Below are some "before and after" pictures.

Malina made good use of the couch as she was learning to walk. The couch was well worn, and the odd colorations were actually there, and not a photographic artifact. It was great for spilling stuff on, or spitting up on (Malina was in charge of most of that)... |

The couch pieces came out really nice! While it is not represented well in these pictures, your keen eye just might have noticed that the other couch in the room, a piece of which appears in the picture 2 up from this one, also changed. That couch, shown in this picture on the extreme right, was also re-covered by Charlene after the first two pieces were done. That couch also came out extremely well. Oh, and the carpet is different, and the wall paper, and the shelves on the wall, and... |
