What is K.A.A.P.?

K.A.P.P. is an acronym for Keisha Anderson Park Panther basketball skills training camp. This basketball camp is geared towards teaching girls, grades 4-12, fundamental basketball skills while allowing the kids to experience fun and competitive basketball play under the supervision of accomplished basketball personalities Keisha Anderson and Jim Kerkvliet.

Under the tutelage of professional women's basketball player Keisha Anderson and coach of the state champion Racine Park girls' basketball team Jim Kerkvliet, girls of all ages will be trained in areas such as :

  • Shooting
  • Defense
  • Passing
  • Dribbling

Location

K.A.P.P. sessions will be held at the Racine Park High School Field House, located at 1901 12th Street, Racine, Wisconsin. Note: Due to maintenance problems with the field house floor at Park, the site of the camp has been switched to McKinley Middle School.

Sessions

Everyone is invited to stop in and view the sessions. Each session will consist of three hours of combined skills, coaching, and comprehensive play. Contest finals and award ceremony will be held on Friday, July 16, 1999.

Morning (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) Grades 4-7

Afternoon (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) Grades 8-12

Note: Due to switching the site of the camp from Park High School to McKinley Middle School, both Grades 4-7 and Grades 8-12 sessions will meet from Noon - 3 p.m.

Camp Fees

Grades 4 - 7 $45.00

Grades 8 - 12 $50.00

* Camp fees include a camp T-Shirt signed by Keisha Anderson.

Staff

All coaches and counselors involved are highly respected players and coaches.

Health & Safety

Each K.A.P.P. participant must have a medical release signed by a parent or guardian stating she is in good physical shape and in good health (able to compete). Minor injuries will be handled by qualified personnel. Family health insurance coverage is required.
