CMR Manta clone

boost glider

I built this model was built based on plans from the April/May, 1997 issue of Sport Rocketry magazine. My model uses 1/8" sheet balsa for the fuselage and 1/16" balsa sheet for everything else, although I have also seen it built from styrofoam sheet as from a dinner plate.

This glider can be launched either as a parasite (I've set up a lug on the side of my Big Bertha clone to carry it) or using a power-pod. So far I've only tested it as a parasite, but with an A-BG event coming up at AL14-98, I'll be comparing it to my Edmonds Deltie, Estes Nighthawk and Novus Aerospace saucers.
