modified Marauder

ejecting power-pod boost glider

Al's modification of Astron Mike's Marauder (.BMP, 85k)
I like the basic look of Astron Mike's Marauder but I don't care for the size of the elevons and wanted a more positive elevon stop, so I decided to try a modification (see image above). The new Marauder is still based on a BT-50 body tube with an ejecting BT-20 power pod for elevon activation.

The modified Marauder uses the same power pod as the original Marauder, so all I have to build is the body tube (same as original) and wing (smaller elevon and larger rudder.

Parts count is minimal.
Material Use
1/8" ArtCor used for the main wing, two wingtips, and rudder.
BT-50 main body tube
PNC-50 glued into BT-50.
Note: base cut off to allow BT-20 to fit further into nose.
BT-20 for ejecting power pod
CR-2050 (2) center and position power pod within body tube
paper clip used to hold down elevon until power-pod ejection.
streamer for power-pod recovery
rubber band or
elastic thread
to activate elevator
