Quest Intruder

futuristic sport model

When I ordered my X-30 National Aerospace plane kits from Discount Rocketry, I saw this inexpensive kit and decided to give it a try. It has nice lines and isn't an average 3FNC model. It's a 6FNC model! ;-)

Modifications:
I'm using glue rivets on this kit for added strength. I'm also trying to use Model Magic (tm) filler (from Carl Goldberg at the time - now from Dave Patrick Products) for the first time. So far I'm not very impressed with the Model Magic (tm), but I may be trying to use it when it's too thick. Others on RMR have said to thin it down a bit with water, but then I'm concerned about fin warping.

Construction was interrupted by planning and building models for MWRC-97 and has not been picked up due to my dissatisfaction with how the filler material was working. I will try to get back to work on the Intruder in a couple of weeks (when time opens up a bit).

Built: started August, 1997
Launches: none, yet
Repairs: none, *yet*
