Writers on the Rock was formed in the winter of 1996 when a few members of a writing class continued to meet to lend support to each other and to motivate and critique their work. New members entered the group and the goal remains the same. Members encourage each other in their writing endeavors, whether that be for personal pleasure or for publication. Writers on the Rock come from Watertown and surrounding areas, thus the Rock River was incorporated into the name of the group.
Writers on the Rock encourages participation from other writers. We learn from our own and from others' musings. Writing is a personal endeavor and by encouraging each other, we continue to use writing as a creative outlet and skill. We have learned much from the rich variety of experiences members bring to the group. Our support, laughter, tears, and sharing have made us better writers and better people. We open our arms and our hearts to anyone who wishes to write and to share that writing.
