Kenosha Public Museum

The new Kenosha Public Museum was completed in late 2000. A replica of the Hebior mammoth (the largest, most complete mammoth ever found in the U.S.) and the bones of the Schaefer mammoth (another mammoth excavated in Kenosha County) are featured in the Museum's ice age exhibit. An enormous swatch of "glacial ice" cuts through the Museum, recalling the last Wisconsin Ice Age 10,000 years ago.

In this picture of the Public Museum, one can see the strong architecture. Note the glass glacier cutting throught the massive stone building, symbolizing the Ice Age emphasis of the museum exhibits.
