Personal Liability

Personal Liability coverage will payment of claims made against you that you are found legally liable for under the Homeowners Policy.

Personal Liability will also pay legal defense costs even if a suit or claim made against you is groundless, false or fraudulent. This is extremely important as attorneys may charge as much as $150.00 an hour to defend you against a claim even if you are not responsible for another persons damages.

Examples of such claims may be an individual slipping and falling on icy sidewalk in front of your home, you pet dog biting a neighbors child or an errant golf shot breaking the window of a home located off the fairway of the golf course your may be playing.

Claims that are not covered by the Personal Liability coverage of the Homeowners Policy include any claim arising out of the use of an automobile, any claims resulting from business activities, or any intentional or criminal actions on your part. There may be other exclusions under your policy, so read it carefully and review the coverage with your agent.
