Grade Assessment for Essays

Students will create the appropriate essay in any recognized standard format following the directions and topics assigned.  Each will be in white paper format without a cover page.  Paper will be white, 8˝ x 11 inches with a staple in the upper left corner. Margins will be 1" on all sides, double spacing will be used. The preferred font is Times New Roman 12, no font size shall be larger than Times New Roman 12 (Courier 10 - Pica on a typewriter, 10 characters per inch).  The bibliography, works cited, reference page (if appropriate) shall be single spaced, a blank line [a double space] between entries..  Pages should be numbered (centered at the bottom of the page is the preferred location for page numbers). Margins will be measured with a ruler.

The title of the report or the stock symbol of the company will appear centered at the top, student's name (centered) a double space below and the body will begin a double space below the name.

Correct essays worth 100 points per full page.
Extra pages are worth 50 points per full page extra credit.
Bibliography Page (that meet the citation requirement) is 100 points.
Required references are worth 25 points for each different (unique) source.
Extra references are worth 10 points for each additional source.
No more than 25% will be allowed for extra credit beyond 100%.
