The USS Arizona Visitor Center is located on the Pearl Harbor
Naval Base adjacent to the sunken remains of the USS Arizona. The
center is operated and maintained by the National Park Service in
a use agreement with the U.S. Navy.
The center and USS Arizona Memorial are free of charge to the
public and there are no reservations. Everyone visiting the USS
Arizona is encouraged to view a 20 minute film documenting the
attack on Pearl Harbor. The film is presented by the Park
Service, prior to the short U.S. Navy shuttle boat trip to the memorial itself. Be prepared to wait however. The memorial is a very
popular site in Honolulu and the crowds at all hours of the day
can be overwhelming. Visitors are issued free tickets for the film and the shuttle to the Arizona upon arrival at the center on a first come, first served basis, but waits of one hour or more are commonplace. For this reason, go early!

Transportation to the Memorial is varied. If you're without a rental
car, The Bus is an excellent alternative. These Honolulu
busses board at numerous Waikiki locations during all regular hours of
service. The #20 bus is the most direct. For this reason a lot of #20 busses
are full. Other busses do travel to, and beyond, the Visitor Center and
Memorial. Ask the driver of a #20 bus for the numbers of other busses that go
to the Visitor Center and Memorial. The only difference is that with other
busses available from Waikiki, you must transfer to another bus at the Ala
Moana Shopping Center, in order to continue on to the Memorial.
Don't overlook the small commercial busses and vans that travel
exclusively to the Memorial. They are reasonably priced and are non-stop,
therefore faster. For more information call (808) 422-0561.
By Car
From the Honolulu/Waikiki area take either Ala Moana/Nimitz Highway or H-1 freeway West. While on H-1 look for the USS Arizona/Stadium exit, #15a. The USS Arizona Memorial (not Pearl Harbor exit ) is located on the shoreline overlooking Pearl Harbor directly off of State Highway 99 (Kamehameha Highway) about a 45-minute drive west of Waikiki.
