Dinosaurs from Judith River formation

Pachycephalosauridae

The Pachycephalosaurs were relatively small, bipedal, ornithischian dinosaurs from the late Cretaceous. Their most striking feature is the domed appearance of their skull, due to a dramatic thickening of the bone. In addition, there are frequently bony knobs or spikes around the skull.

Stegoceras

Stegoceras (not to be confused with Stegosaurus, the dinosaur with plates on its back) was a "mountain goat" type dinosaur.  Bipedal and vegetarian, this dinosaur had a thick dome of bone on top of its skull, with bony knobs behind this.  It seems likely that these animals engaged in butting contests.
