FLAT BUCKY SAMPLE LETTER

Dear ___________________,

Querido amigo,

   Our Spanish Class read a book called Flat Stanley. This book was about a boy that was flat and got mailed to friends in different parts of the world, because it was cheaper than flying. Our class is sending you a Flat “Bucky Badger”. He is the Mascot of the University of Wisconsin and of our state.  (Bucky was not squashed flat by a bulletin board, like Stanley.  Bucky was flattened by a 300 lb. Center on the UW Football team!)

Please send him back to us after you have done some of the following things:

1. Spend a day or weekend with him and write us on the sheet provided explaining what you did.
2. Collect things from your area and the places Flat Bucky visited (ex. Picture of Bucky and you visiting, postcards, maps, newspapers, etc.)
3. Send us the things you collected along with Flat Bucky. Please send back the printed Bucky.  The other Bucky that we colored, you can keep as a souvenir.
4. You can send Digital Pictures to our teacher at:  m.hannan@oakcreek.k12.wi.us
5. We will put them onto our Flat Bucky web site is at:    http://my.execpc.com/~ehannan/Bucky.html

   We are studying Our Community, “Nuestra Comunidad”, in our Spanish class. Since we can not travel all over the world we are sending Flat Bucky,
so he can be our traveling student. Please help us with our class project. Don’t forget to fold Flat Bucky back up and send him with all his neat stuff
in the envelope we provided.
