Larry J. Eriksson





...is a consultant and writer residing in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a co-founder of Eriksson Research, LLC, a consulting business, and QUARTER SECTION PRESS, a unit of Eriksson Research, LLC, that publishes books related to building a more sustainable, just, and humane world (www.quartersectionpress.com).

Dr. Eriksson is the author of Broken Strings, Missing Notes: strengthening democracy and seeking justice in a nation out of tune, (2005) and Business Decisions: the impact of corporate mergers and global capitalism on our lives (2002).

He has extensive experience as a senior manager at small, medium, and large companies and as an active leader in a  variety of community organizations. He previously served as vice-president of research for Nelson Industries, Inc., a  manufacturer of noise control products, and co-founded and served as an  officer and director of Digisonix, a manufacturer of active sound and vibration control systems. Following the sale of Nelson to Cummins in 1998, he served as the chief technical officer of the Fleetguard/Nelson unit of the Cummins Engine Company.

Dr. Eriksson received his B.S.E.E. from Northwestern University, his M.S.E.E. from the University of Minnesota, his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has served as an adjunct faculty member in electrical engineering at the UW-Madison.

He is the author of over 180 presentations and papers on acoustical technology, adaptive systems, technology management, and globalization issues, has 19 U.S. patents, and has written chapters in Noise and Vibration Control Engineering (Wiley, 1992) and Noise Control in Internal Combustion Engines (Wiley, 1982).

Dr. Eriksson is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers, a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, and a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
