Maralyn A. Wellauer, Director and Consultant for Family History Education Associates, has been a secondary Social Studies and English teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools for over 20 years. She has been a professional genealogist, lecturer, and author since 1968. She received her B.S. in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her M.A. from Mount Mary College. A longtime member of the National Genealogical Society, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, she was appointed to the Youth Award Committee in 1988, and organized the Society’s Family History Education Support Service in 1995.

Ms. Wellauer lectures extensively on tracing pedigrees to Continental European nations and has authored several manuals on related subjects. She has received several grants-in-aid to pursue programs for the inclusion of genealogy into the classroom in a number of creative ways. In addition, she is currently the editor of The Swiss Connection: A Genealogical and Cultural Newsletter.

A member of The Genealogical Speakers’ Guild and the Association of Professional Genealogists, Ms. Wellauer is also included in Who’s Who in Genealogy and Heraldry, 1st edition (1982) and 2nd edition (1990.)
