WORLD MANUFACTURING RIGHTS ARE NEGOTIABLE

Three friends and yourself are on a photographic outing, all using 35mm camera’s *. Each of you are using a different focal length lens and f-stops, while photographing subjects at various distances. Only one person has a DEPTH OF FIELD scale on their lens, but you have the DEPTH OF FIELD Calculator, carrying extra rolls of film today.

Joe calls out to you, "50mm lens, f-8 at 15 feet" and in less than 5 seconds you call back, "Near distance is 11 feet and far distance is 23 feet.' Next Pete calls out, "200 mm, f-22 at 30 feet", your reply "26 feet to 38 feet" and then you check your own DEPTH OF FIELD for your close-up shot: 28mm, 5 feet at f-22 ===> 2.4 feet to 10 feet.

All of these responses were a quick and simple calculation on the DEPTH OF FIELD Calculator. Slide the distance ring to the subject distance, rotate the ring and match the subject distance and read the near distance focal point. Subtract the near distance from the subject distance, double it and add that number to the subject distance for the far distance. The DEPTH OF FIELD Calculator is a hybrid, three axis slide rule (see photograph).
