Secretary Gary Köhler read the minutes of the April meeting. Dale clarified what had happened during the demo of Dungeon Siege, that some other program must have been running in the background, causing the lackluster performance reported last month. Dale's only complaint is that he keeps getting killed too often!
Discussion

Kevin Cook mentioned the clean room cam at nasa.gov. (The .gov is very important here, you DO NOT want nasa.com!)
Gary Köhler described crank.net, a source of links to the wackier fringe sites on the web. Particularly mentioned rstolley.com, probably the most hideously disorganized and incoherent site on the web. (Do not visit this site with anything less than T1, it takes forever to load!) President Dale Roethig called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm. Attendance: 5, 6 later on.
Discussion
Much of the meeting was taken up with the attempt to troubleshoot a video problem on Scott Brunkow's computer, Sybil. No video signal is transmitted to the monitor, although the system apparently tries to start Windows in spite of this sure-fire showstopper.
Kevin Cook suggested holding a Tupperware party as a means of raising money, and passed out appropriate literature.
Gary Köhler mentioned that Milwaukee PC is beginning to sponsor a gaming show/convention called CyberExplosion as a replacement for the departing GenCon. The intention (at the moment) is to hold this event every six months or so. Stay tuned.
In the course of troubleshooting Scott's problem the video card was removed from Sybil and installed in Dale's PC, Igor II, giving us a look at a contemporary motherboard. It worked flawlessly, indicating that the video card is probably not at fault.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:57 pm.
