Discussion
Dennis Drewek updated us about his troubled Tyan motherboard.
Dale Roethig showed us his new PCMCIA card with USB 2.0 and a new network adapter. It is a replacement for an onboard USB port damaged in an accident.
Gary Köhler gave some initial observations about Mozilla 1.2.1.
Dennis Drewek had a few anecdotes about miscellaneous junk computers.
Dennis Drewek and Dale Roethig found that the network cable was either bad or a crossover cable.
Dale Roethig showed a video called "Fowl Play" by Christopher de Santis.
Dale Roethig previewed some of the contents of the club Christmas CD.

We looked at several scans of a Halloween pumpkin done by Randy Jaeckel.
Dennis Drewek detailed recent trouble with a Tyan motherboard that he ultimately had to send back.
Due to "overbooking" of the Wimmer Room the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm.

Kevin Cook asked if anyone went to either the Civil War encampment or the swapfest at GraysLake.
There was a general discussion of the Yes article in The Monitor Newsletter and the recording and movie industries in general.
This was followed by a discussion of post-Napster peer-to-peer services.
Discussion then veered off onto the upcoming governmental elections.
Dale showed up and the meeting revived.
Dale then demonstrated the Unreal Tournament and Army Ops games.
Kevin Cook showed an animation entitled Raymond and His Love For Cheese from Immortal 3D.
We looked at the Musicmatch Jukebox program.

Gary Köhler described a recent cleaning of viruses from his dad's machine.
There was a general discussion of Gamefest.
Scott Brunkow had recently backed up his system, reinstalled the operating system on a new drive and was wondering if there was a way to selectively restore the files.
A guest, Mike Rye, showed us WinUAE, an Amiga emulator running on his laptop.
Dale discussed Blue-Gray CON, a Civil-War theme Game SIG Special Event.
Dale then discussed other recent Game SIG activities.

Yoshi's Box, the ultimate gaming box was discussed.
Dale Roethig had some information about a new virus checker program from GRISoft.
Gary Köhler shared some computer funnies he'd received.
Dennis Drewek asked about means of testing his new system. He then shared an anecdote about CPU temperature while installing/running WinXP.
Scott Brunkow described problems with another user's system after installing the wrong version of Windows Media Player.
Dale had a look at some of the nasty surprises concealed in the EULA (End User License Agreement). Is considering dumping WMP.
There was a discussion of DVD's and the site VCDHelp.com.
