Discussion
Dennis Drewek recently replaced his computer. He now has a one terabyte drive. This led to discussion of how to back it up.
Dennis Drewek spoke about his experience with Ghost and Windows 7.
Discussion turned to Fun With Microwaves.
John Schwarzmeier described a computer he recently saw at CostCo.
A few questions came up about digital TV.
This led to discussion of Cell-phone Fun.
Dennis Drewek recently succeeded in getting his uncle's computer hooked up to DSL.

Gary Köhler showed off Kundry 2 and eComStation 1.2.
Gary Köhler also showed off two versions of Menuet, a hobbyist operating system.
Kevin Cook then showed off an external enclosure for hard drive he had just bought.
Dennis Drewek reported that his wife's computer has been replaced, the old one given to his uncle.
Kevin Cook asked what is with the speed on SD cards.
Dennis Drewek reported on some recent motherboard and printer woes.

Discussion
Dennis Drewek showed us pictures and video of his vacation to Seattle as shot on a cellphone.
Gary Köhler announced that he had installed eComStation 1.2 on one of his laptops with mostly good results.
Scott Brunkow reported on various problems he had with Windows on previous machines.
Gary Köhler had more to say about his laptop. He then spoke about PostgreSQL and the possibility of creating an asteroid database with it.
Gary Köhler and Scott Brunkow then discussed astronomical data for awhile.
John Schwarzmeier had a question about Adventures in Gaming.
Kevin Cook and others discussed lawnmowers.
Discussion turned to Windows 7 and whether anyone was expecting to install it soon. Overwhelming consensus: no.
Dennis Drewek and others spoke about networking problems betweeen Vista and other versions of Windows on the same network.
Lastly there was discussion of what to do with found cellphones.

Business
Our constitution was amended unanimously.
After some discussion it was decided that we will have to decline participation in RockCon for this year.
Discussion
Gary Köhler updated all on fixing his brother's computer and restoring its functionality. He also described possible work to be done down the road.
Gary Köhler described problems with his own computer and how he hopes to fix them.
Discussion turned to thumb drives.
Discussion then turned to computer upgrades, and the ViewSonic PC Mini.
Lastly discussion turned to zucchini, tomatoes and peppers.

President Scott Brunkow called the meeting to order at 7:09 pm. Attendance: 4, 5 later on. It was disclosed that papers relating to a bank account of the MACE Amiga SIG were found among some of Dale Roethig's personal effects.
Secretary Gary Köhler read the minutes of the July meeting.
Treasurer Gary Köhler reported the balance at $801.05.
Business
Gary Köhler will investigate the MACE Amiga SIG bank account.
Gary Köhler passed out copies of the MACE constitution and proposed several amendments to streamline the organization. Will produce amended constitution at next meeting.
Lastly, plans were laid for next month's pizza party.

Gary Köhler described problems with his brother's computer.
Dennis Drewek related problems with his son's computer caused by a browser redirect virus.
Gary Köhler described more problems with his brother's computer, this time the DVD burner. The general consensus is replace the drive.
Discussion turned to useful utilities for use with DVD writers, such as DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, and ImageBurn.
Dennis Drewek spoke about his upcoming trip to Seattle.

Treasurer Gary Köhler reported the balance at $1,201.05.
Business
Gary Köhler proposed donating $400 to the Mother of Good Counsel School as a memorial to Dale Roethig. Passed unanimously.
Discussion turned to the question of how many officers this organization should have. And where is our constitution so that we can properly amend it?
Scott Brunkow announced that we will research whether the club should register as a non-profit organization.
Gary Köhler proposed having pizza at our September meeting.
John Schwarzmeier will take over the Game SIG.
Discussion
Kevin Cook showed us a light with a missing lens.
Dennis Drewek bought a used PDA and is having problems with it.
Much of the meeting was taken up viewing pictures of Kevin Cook's recent trip to New York City on John Schwarzmeier's computer.
Lastly, Dennis Drewek and Larry spoke of the wonders of the Swiss Army Knife.
