Discussion
We worked on John Schwarzmeier's installations of Halo in an effort to get a LAN game started between the two laptops. It appears that something is wrong with his networking setup, we were unable to resolve it.

Discussion
Gary Köhler showed a programming experiment.
Kevin Cook showed us a recent Consumer Reports comparison of laptop computers, his daughter ultimately bought a Toshiba.
We marvelled at the unusual number of toolbars in John Schwarzmeier's browser, got rid of a few.
John Schwarzmeier reported problems caused by a CD messing up the registry. Kevin Cook suggested a program called MyUninstall.
Discussion turned to the Spanish Flu.
John Schwarzmeier and Gary Köhler spoke about the census.

There was a bit of phone phun with John Schwarzmeier's new cellphone.
Kevin Cook spoke about the EyeFi.
Gary Köhler showed off the solar system emulator he has been working on. There are still some display problems at 800x600 resolution.

President Scott Brunkow called the meeting to order at 7:23 pm. Attendance: 4. He spoke about the recent Anime Milwaukee exhibition held at UWM.
Secretary Gary Köhler read the minutes of the February meeting.
Treasurer Gary Köhler reported the balance at $786.05 after receipt of two membership renewals and withdrawal for the Equinoctial Pizza Party.
Discussion
Discussion started with money and Gary Köhler told of an old PL/I compiler that supported something called a "sterling string" that represented money expressed in pounds, shillings, and pence. Arithmetic could actually be performed with these strings!.
Gary Köhler spoke about his recent work in celestial mechanics, and how his programs were behaving oddly at long periods of time. Scott suggested that we were seeing the onset of chaos, but Gary said that the time scale (10,000 years) is too soon for that.
John Schwarzmeier had trouble getting an external hard drive to work. Kevin Cook suggested removing the jumper completely, and that worked.

Treasurer Gary Köhler reported one membership renewal, renewal of the PO box, bringing the balance to $766.05.
Discussion
Gary Köhler had a few words about Diomidis Spinellis' book, Reading Code, how it really does have the full code of (admittedly dated) implementations of NetBSD and XWindow.
John Schwarzmeier's sister's computer is having problems with its anti-virus program which reports its vault is full.
Gary Köhler browsed for a bit with Google Chrome. Of particular interest was a site that listed "Apple's 10 Worst Products". As expected the Apple /// topped the list.
Gary Köhler shared some recent e-mail, one from a C-64 owner and another from Randy Jaeckel concerning video files.

Vice-President Kevin Cook reported that his copy of The Monitor Newsletter arrived in the mail in bad condition.

Discussion
Scott Brunkow announced (as was evident from flyers posted all around us on the lockers) that Adventures In Gaming was moving to a location that would not have as much space and that a new meeting-place would have to be found. Discussion focused on libraries and possibly other gaming stores. John Schwarzmeier and Gary Köhler volunteered to do the necessary search.
Gary Köhler asked Dennis Drewek about his experiences with Windows 7. Dennis reports that for various reasons he is not using it yet.
Discussion turned to printers and legacy drivers.
Dennis Drewek had a complaint about recent computers orienting their USB ports so that the devices are upside down rendering the LEDs invisible.
