Available Now! Version 2.51 - QControl 2.51 is a maintenance release which adds several new convienent features. These include:

QControl 2.5 added Drum sound editing with the same intuitive user interface that has made QControl so popular. Drum mode editing is now as simple as clicking a button. The program overview window allows you to set the levels for all 10 drum sounds in one page, click on the sound details button and have instant access to all of the parameters of each of the 10 drum sounds within a given sound.

Keyboard Sound:

Drum Sound:

It just couldn't get any easier to create and edit drum sounds on your QS. As with sound samples in version 2.0, drum samples are fully customizable, so you can access drum samples stored on QCards or your own samples stored on Flash RAM cards.

QControl

QControl is a Windows 95/NT shareware editor for Alesis QS series synthesizers.  It is intended to provide a simple alternative to working with the front panel LCD.  The interface was designed to be visually oriented so you can see the values of the parameters you are working with 'at a glance' and modify the values in place.  The program displays graphical representations of the settings for envelopes and the tracking generator, these are designed to be intuitive and visual, but not intrusive.   Examples:

Parameter editing is done "real-time" so that changes are sent to the synth as they are made.   QControl lets you define the banks that exist on your synth and will read the bank information from standard sysex files.  This allows the interface to use the patch names that you're used to working with on your keyboard (as opposed to numbers only).  It also allows QControl to be compatible with the entire line of QS keyboards (including the NanoSynth, NanoPiano, and NanoBass).  This also enables QControl to use banks and patches that are present on expansion cards).

QControl also uses variable sample names and sample group names.  This means that you can use the samples stored on expansion cards in your programs, and reference them by the names you give them in the synth.  The sample names can be easily modified to suit your configuration.

The QControl virtual keyboard tool displays an on-screen,  88-key, mouse triggered keyboard with variable velocity (the lower you "strike" the key, the higher the velocity) and aftertouch (drag the mouse up or down on the key after clicking).  Display shows velocity and aftertouch values being sent (you can also remove the display panel by right clicking, to save display space).
