One day at
the beach in Bolinas, We ran across an example of that quaint sub-genre of dogdom, the
Stick Dog. They don’t want cookies, they don’t want to be petted, they just want
to chase sticks. |
| It’s a seemingly pointless obsession,
but it fills those empty hours in a dog’s day, between finding some food, or rolling
in something smelly. |

Sometimes
the Stick Dog will corner you, and there is nothing you can do but grab the grimy stick
and throw it, and pray the dog will tire out, but they never do. |
