Legends of the Blues
On November 1, 1997, at Yoshi's nightclub in Oakland California I was fortunate to witness a memorable evening of blues. Snooky Pryor, Hubert Sumlin, Henry Gray, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Calvin "Fuzz" Jones, and John Brim were the scheduled artists. I would have been satisfied to see a set by as great of a lineup as that, but as luck would have it, there was more. Our first hint came when my friend "Lawrence" noticed Joe Louis Walker standing outside the club.

Wavy Gravy can be seen to the right, and former Jimmy Rogers band keyboardist Dave Krull can be seen to Wavy's left. Krull played on a number of tunes throughout the night.

Later in the evening Elvin Bishop joined Snooky Pryor, John Brim and Calvin Jones on some numbers.
