The welder showed up today, what a rig! Gas powered Miller welder which Mark claims can do all types of welding. He did a kick butt job welding on my new rear cross-member and six stainless glass body mounts. Reinforced some poor factory welds. Price????? $100 WOW if that's not reasonable, nothing is. If you're in SE WI give him a call. "MARKS WELDINGING & FABRICATION (262-470-7263) Muk. WI.
Pulled the front pumkin cover, Dana open 30 with 331 gears. All the gears looked good. Pulled starter and all tranny bolts getting ready to pull it and replace clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. The throw out was a bit noisey when I parked it. If it's like everything else I'm finding the whole mess will need to be replaced. I'm hoping not the flywheel.
Check out the photo of the clutch linkage I pulled (second last pix). Made up new vent hoses for front and rear drive shafts and tranny. Need to change the speedo gear, going from 32s to33s. Broke the bolt off that holds the gear in the tranny. Drilled it out and tried an EASY-OUT. Broke it off, too. Drilled, tapped new hole in trans. case for speedo holdown (last pix). Put the grinder to all the old nurf bar welds and cleaned um up pretty good. Time to think about coating the frame .
