Mission Statement

Happy Endings is a non-profit, no kill organization that has been in existence since 1994.  It is run solely by volunteers. Our mission is to find permanent homes for strays, abused or unwanted animals that are either brought in to us or rescued off the street.

Description of Programs and Services

Happy Endings provides a safe haven for feral, stray, abused, neglected and or critically injured animals.    We nurse those who are sick back to health and provide a home for all animals until they are ready to  be adopted.  No animal is ever euthanized by Happy Endings for convenience sake, but, only when, in a veterinarian's professional opinion is in a state of terminal suffering.  All of our adult animals are spayed and/or neutered before they are adopted.  We currently adopt out an average of 30 animals per month.

As many of our cats are strays or have been mistreated during their life, some of them are quite shy and considered 'unadoptable' by other shelters.  Therefore, we have a socialization program, where our volunteers work with these felines daily to build a trust of humans, offering a secure environment until they are ready to be adopted.

Facts About Happy Endings

  • We are funded by donations, our annual fundraiser, merchandise sales and adoption fees.

  • Happy Endings cats eat over 250 pounds of dry cat food, 1,000 cans of moist food and 120 pounds of special diet food every month.

  • Our cats alone use 700 pounds of litter every month.

  • In 2001 we adopted about 400 animals into new and loving homes.

  • Cats who are not adopted are either fostered by our volunteers or become part time residents at Happy Endings until the perfect home comes along. Dogs are fostered, too and can be seen by appointment only. Adopters often overlook our felines with special needs because of handicaps, illnesses, physical imperfections, age, or behavioral problems, but Happy Endings will offer them a loving home. Dogs are fostered, too and can be seen by appointment

  • In the past year, we have had great success in finding homes for our FIV and feline leukemia friends that would not have had a chance in other shelters.

We just received our 501(c)3 status!, This will allow us to apply for grants and will provide more opportunity to obtain funding which will help our organization remain in existence.

If you are interested in helping Happy Endings in anyway, be it donations or volunteering your time, please  contact us. Happy Endings and its animals thank you  for giving us your consideration and time.
