Biases
Biases of the Comics Archives
In any research work, assumptions much be made to arrive at the most internally consistent view. Part of this is covered in the Retcons section of the Justice Society Fact File. The purpose of this page is to delineate some of the biases used regarding other aspects of comics history
The Phantom Lady - It assumed that the only true Phantom Lady appearance are the pre-1945 appearance in Quality comics. The later (1947-48) version notorious in early adult comics is ignored.
The Silver Age - It is assumed that the Silver Age begins in 1955/56. For continuous titles it assumed that the last GA/1st SA issues are: Action Comics #200, Adventure Comics #210, Batman #100, Detective Comics #225, Superman #100, and Wonder Woman #70. The Silver Age ended in 1970.
Wonder Woman - The issues of Wonder Woman comics from ~#160 to #170 attempt to capture the "Golden Age" of Wonder Woman and even use Golden Age Wonder Woman villians. We assume that this stories are in fact 1960's stories of the Golden Age Wonder Woman
Wildcat - The Wildcat stories which appeared in 1970's Brave and the Bold Comics and Super-Team Family have been suggested to occur on an alternate world where Batman and Wildcat are contempories. We assume that as well.
Post Crisis History - For the sake of currency, it is assumed that new details about JSA history revealed post Crisis also occured on Earth-2 and that events in the lives of JSAers revealed post Crisis parallel those of Earth-2 heroes (where Earth-2 may be).
