IGSW member Tom Collins, who has his own photo restoration business, will demonstrate how old, faded and damaged photographs can be brought back to life using digital technology. Tom will discuss how torn photographs can be repaired and missing pieces recreated, how images can be enhanced to bring out lost details, how black and white images can be colorized, and how subjects can even be added, removed or rearranged. Some restoration techniques will be demonstrated in real time on a computer. And examples of "before" and "after" photographs will be shown and the techniques used to achieve the results explained.
