Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, Decembewr 7, 2005, 7:30 p.m.
Greendale Library Community Room

Firechief Fedder gave a lengthy interesting presentation on fire safety and the history of the Greendale Fire Department.

We began our regular meeting at 9:05 p.m. The Treasurer's Report showed $865.64 balance after all bills paid. Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.

Bob Thierfelder reported that the newsletter had meen mailed to landlords of the Greendale originals. There were 40 that were mailed. A copy of Kathy Loomis' article on the Hisotrical Society and the pursuit of a Greendale original to be used for a museum was included in the mailing as well as a cover letter from Bob.

The candidates so far for the election in February are Bob Thierfelder for President, Delores Sikora for Vice President, Cheryl Koc for Treasurer and Kathleen Hart for Secretary. Nominations will be open at the February meeting.

Old Business
There was some discussion on the Police and Fire Building and what is the status of same. It appears that it is possible for the Village to demolish an historical building if they so desire if they prepare the proper paperwork. It was the general concensus that the building should be saved and used for the purpose of saving historical items. Jeff Birmingham said that he did give the information to the Village Manager regarding getting a matching grant from the Federal Government to preserve buildings to be used for historical purposes. This will also be brought to the attention of the Historical Society at their next meeting. Bob will call Sally Chadwick to set up a meeting with the Historical Society before the meeting in January.

New Business
Bob has talked to an expert from Madison and he is willing to come to the March 1, 2006 meeting to discuss the mold and other problems that might be in the Greendale originals. He needs information on the construction of the homes and Bob will get the information to him.

When Al and Ginny come back home, Bob and Carole want to have a meeting at their home in conjunction with a welcome home party.

A discussion was held on the possibility of having candidates for school board speak at the February meeting. The general concensus was that we would like to have that discussion but February will be election of officers and the concensus was that some other group should have a forum. Kathleen will call around to see who can have a forum; the school board itself or the League of Women Voters or some impartial group.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:55 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Kathleen Hart, Secretary
