I enjoy tinkering with and restoring antique tractors. My father-in-law had purchased two antique tractors years ago to use around his home. I acquired these tractors from him:
The first tractor is a 1939 Allis Chalmers Model B tractor which is a single row cultivator tractor. I use this tractor as my lawn mower. I have approximately 5 acres of lawn to mow so this tractor is set up with a 5 foot, 3 blade mowing deck. The tractor has no hydraulics so lifting the deck is done via a manual lever. This can be difficult as the deck weighs about 100 lbs.
The other tractor is a 1953 Ford NAA also known as a Golden Jubilee. This tractor was a special edition tractor for Ford's 50th anniversary of building tractors. It is a popular tractor for collectors. This tractor has hydraulics. It has a 3 point hitch for the farm impliments. I have a 2 bottom plow and a back blade for the 3pt hitch. It also has a bucket loader. The loader is a narrow type used for manure. I use this tractor to plow my garden in the spring and fall and to plow the driveway in the winter. Right now the hydraulics are not working properly so I'm shoveling the drive :( Great news! The hydraulic fluid was just low. I added 2 GALLONS of fluid and now the back blade works but the bucket loader only raises half way. I still need MORE fluid! But at least I can plow the drive :)
