This book, sponsored by the American Society for Training and Development, has two purposes:

1. To provide an annual documentation of the most useful ideas, practices, technique and case studies in the field of training and performance technology.

2. To serve as an annually updated and revised reference to publications, organizations Internet discussion lists, Web sites, and other sources of information that will help you do your job more efficiently and effectively.

It includes over 45 articles—reprints from many different sources and original written for this book. It will keep you current on what the leading names in the field of performance technology are thinking and recommending to help assure that employees have the information and training to perform at their highest levels.
