My Pepsi Man awareness began when I was reading the July 1999 issue of Toy Fare.In letters to the editor section was a query from a reader named Kyle Ligenza. Kyle wanted to know anything, ANYTHING about a Japanese action figure named Pepsi Man. I now understand his obsession. But at the time I just glimpsed at the image of the Pepsi Man action figure and skimmed the editor's response. In short, Pepsi Man is the creation of Pepsi Co to sell Pepsi in Japan and Korea.

And then I was bored at work. I took a CD of Palm Pilot wares and Quick Time movies my friend had burned for me and loaded it all onto my computer. There were five or so Pepsi Man commertials on this CD. So I watched them. And then I made my co-worker watch them. And then I looked for Trent, another bored co-worker, so that I could show him the comertials. The music caught me first. Then the images. Then I was hooked. I wasn't alone. Pepsi Man is a phenomnon.
