1. The Best Motor Oil The key to
extending drain intervals is the oil you use. AMSOIL 100% Synthetic Motor
Oil was the first and may be the only 25,000-mile motor oil on the market.
Today AMSOIL manufactures a number of high quality long life synthetic
motor oils. Because AMSOIL Motor Oils are synthetic lubricants, they
withstand temperature extremes within an engine without “breaking
down” like conventional petroleum oils. They provide excellent
protection at high temperatures and easier starting at sub-zero
temperatures. Kept clean, they will last indefinitely to cool, clean and
reduce friction and wear for the best possible fuel economy and the
longest possible engine life.
2. The Best Air & Oil
Filters Dirt is your engine’s worst enemy. It’s the single major cause
of engine wear. AMSOIL TRIGARD utilizes two extremely effective filters to
(1) keep airborne dirt from entering your engine through the engine air
intake, and (2) continuously filter contaminants and combustion
by-products from the engine oil. First, install an AMSOIL Air Filter.
AMSOIL Air Filters are manufactured with a patented filter foam material
that traps and holds up to 350 per-cent more dirt...and does it while
allowing unrestricted air flow to the engine! Then install the AMSOIL
Spin-On By-Pass Oil Filter. It is much more effective than conventional
oil filters. Not only does it filter particles down to less than 1 micron,
it also removes water from the oil! This remarkably effective oil filter
is the heart of the TRIGARD System. Maintained per AMSOIL recommendations,
it keeps AMSOIL Motor Oil so clean that oil analysis can be performed at
regular intervals and remain clean, free of harmful contaminants and
suitable for continued use! For the ultimate in oil filtration, use the
AMSOIL Dual Remote Oil Filtration System. The Dual Remote System converts
an engine’s full-flow oil filter system into a full-flow/by-pass oil
filter system by attaching AMSOIL Full-Flow and By-Pass Oil Filters onto a
single remote mount. The Dual Remote Filtration System is designed to
provide superior filtration efficiency, increased oil capacity and
improved oil filter accessibility.
3. The Best Engine Monitoring
Regardless of the kind of oil or filters used, mechanical problems in an
engine are not always noticed until it is too late. Engine monitoring can
save you the cost of major engine repairs or a new engine! By analyzing
used engine oil, a qualified lab can detect mechanical problems your
engine may have. To insure that your engine is performing properly, the
TRIGARD Plan includes a first-time oil analysis at 1,000 to 6,000 miles.
The second analysis is performed after one year or 25,000 miles, whichever
comes first.† Continued oil analysis at
six-month or 12,500-mile intervals (whichever comes first) will monitor
the condition of your oil and your engine. The long-term oil analysis
pro-gram has been shortened to six month or 12,500- mile intervals due to
modern engine designs. Today’s engines run hotter, are equipped with
more pollution control equipment, and have higher weight-to-horsepower
ratios. Another reason for more frequent testing intervals is that motor
fuels, including gasoline and diesel, have steadily declined in quality
and cleanliness. Getting a sample of used engine oil from your engine is a
simple procedure using oil sample bottles included with the TRIGARD Plan
and the petcock available for the bypass filter. This procedure assures
many thousands of miles of trouble-free driving. †12,500

Extended Oil Life
AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils are lubricants with extended drain interval
capabilities. When used in the TRIGARD System, the usable life of these
oils is extended dramatically because the oil is kept clean and free of
harmful deposits, and the additives in the oil last substantially longer.
Less Engine Wear
Dirt is the major cause of engine wear. AMSOIL foam air filters capture
and hold more and finer dirt particles from the air than regular paper
filters. This allows the oil to remain free of external contamination.
Even with normal filtration, AMSOIL Motor Oil reduces wear; but by
completely filtering out abrasive particles from the oil with the By-Pass
Filter, it virtually eliminates wear. Keeping AMSOIL clean and free of
harmful deposits will dramatically extend engine life.

Reduces Oil Consumption
Because of its low volatility, AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil naturally
reduces oil consumption. But keeping it clean is important, because dirty
oil pro-motes excessive oil consumption. Dirty oil also increases the rate
of wear on bearings, cylinders, pistons and rings, further contributing to
oil consumption.
Reduced Fuel Dilution
Because dirty oil won’t allow piston rings to seal properly, more
by-products of combustion get past the rings into the oil and also allows
excessive fuel dilution. Fuel dilution can be reduced up to 50% by
maintaining clean oil.
Reduced Rust and Corrosion
All engines are susceptible to water formed by condensation. Complete
combustion of fuel results in a mixture of CO2 and water. Many vehicles
today are not run long enough to allow the engine to achieve operating
temperature and avoid accumulation of water in the oil. This water can
combine with combustion by-products to form acids which attack metal
surfaces and cause excessive wear. AMSOIL Motor Oil is formulated with
extra rust inhibitors to help combat this problem, and the AMSOIL Spin-On
By-Pass Filter’s unique filter element actually filters out and holds
over one pint of water so that acid formation is minimized, if not
