A picture of me (no big loss)

My Contributions to the Information Highway

In 1990 I created the rec.arts.disney newsgroup. Thanks to Google's new expanded newsgroup coverage, here's one of the original call for votes!! Though it didn't evolve into exactly what I envisioned, it did become one of the most popular newsgroups. Newsweek even wrote it up in their August 1st, 1994 Cyberscope column. In 1995 rec.arts.disney was split up into more specific newsgroups. You can visit its offspring from here!

Join the Disney DVD and Laserdisc mailing list! You can do so at: The Disney DVD Mailing List.

I also maintain these lists of Disney recorded media. Check them out!

Disney CD List

Disney Vinyl List

I also used to keep a LaserDisc list, but David Uy does a better job. Check out his instead!

Another project I started in 1990 was the Actress list. This was a list of actresses and the movies they appeared in. Again, thanks to Google, here's one of the original postings of "THE LIST"!! I hooked up with some other movie lovers on the Net, The Internet Movie Databaseand soon we were providing Actor, Director, Writer, and just about every other kind of list you could think of. My home life and graduate studies put too much of a strain on my free time, so I had to give up my Actress list in 1993. This project evolved into the Internet Movie Database shortly after I left it, and was bought out by Amazon.com in 1998. Click here for the full Internet Movie Database story, or click on the image to visit this great site!

I love music and I have the CD/Vinyl collection to prove it. Hunting down obscure B sides is a favorite hobby of mine. I find discographies to be very helpful in tracking down rare songs. Lazlo Nibble has a nice collection of them, but I still needed to create some of my own. Check out my Music Page for various discographies, music links, and some of favorite CD/Vinyl vendors.

Atari Logo

Another craze of mine is collecting video games for various systems (mostly from the 70's and 80's). I've compiled various lists to help in your search for Atari, Coleco, Intellivision, Magnavox, Nintendo, Sega and other various systems. It's all available on my Video Game Hunter's Oasis page.

My latest quickie research project was the Arthur C. Clarke Bibliography. Check it out if you're a fan!
