1. Like a Lamb  Listen...
Like a lamb to the slaughter, he was led.
As a sheep before her shearers, he was silent.
Oppressed and afflicted because of us,
Yet he offered no defense.

Like a lamb to the slaughter, he was led.
As a sheep before her shearers, he was silent.
Oppressed and afflicted because of us,
Yet he opened not his mouth.
Yet he opened not his mouth.

No cry of protest on his tongue;
He put no blame on anyone.
Did not deny or alibi;
He made no reply.

(Repeat with harmony)
Like a lamb to the slaughter, he was led.
As a sheep before her shearers, he was silent.
Oppressed and afflicted because of us,
Yet he offered no defense.

Like a lamb to the slaughter, he was led.
As a sheep before her shearers, he was silent.
Oppressed and afflicted because of us,
Yet he opened not his mouth.
Yet he opened not his mouth.

2. He Will See the Light of Life  Listen...
Isaiah fifty-three
Is full of prophecy
Concerning Him who took all sin away.
It says He would be tried,
And then be crucified.
But that's not all Isaiah had to say:

He will see the light of life;
See the many justified.
Jesus took our sins upon His soul.
He will see the light of life;
And he will be satisfied,
This righteous servant of the Lord!
After all his suffering to set us free,
He will see the light of life!

An angel rolled the stone away,
And sat on it as if to say,
"Did you really think this grave alone
Could keep the Son of God at bay?"

He will see the light of life;
See the many justified.
Jesus took our sins upon His soul.
He will see the light of life;
And he will be satisfied,
This righteous servant of the Lord!
After all his suffering to set us free,
He will see the light of life!

No other powers could hold sway;
And even Death had to obey,
When Our Savior left the darkened tomb,
And walked into the light of day!

He has seen the light of life,
As Isaiah prophesied!
Jesus rose and rules triumphantly!
He has seen the light of life;
And he now is glorified!
Christ the Lord has given victory!
Now He lives and promises that so shall we!
We will see the light of life!
We will see the light of life!

3. The Guilt Offering  Listen...
He was crushed as our guilt offering;
He was bruised and put to grief.
God willed through Jesus' suffering,
Our souls would find release.
We've become the Savior's offspring,
And his children he will see.
God's will has prospered in his hands;
Jesus lives eternally!
As his children, we will live with him
Through all eternity!

4. The One Called Jesus  Listen...
Who brought us love
Far from above
So we could be restored?
It is the one called Jesus,
Christ, the heavenly Lord!
Sing alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Christ, the heavenly Lord!

Who showed us grace
By taking our place
So we could live again?
It is the one called Jesus,
Christ, the Savior of men!
Sing alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
Christ, the Savior of men!

Who never will leave
All those who believe,
But comforts till the end?
It is the one called Jesus,
He's our God and Friend!
Sing alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
To our God and Friend!

5. On This Day   Listen...
One this day of celebration,
We have come as one in prayer,
Offering thanks in dedication,
And our faithfulness declare.

REFRAIN:
So sing we
To the Three:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Come rejoicing,
Praises voicing!
To God alone the glory be!
(congregation repeats)

 May each life and each endeavor
Serve the Lord so others see
By his love we live forever,
God the Savior, made us free!

REFRAIN: (and congregational repeat)

Built upon this firm foundation,
May our church increase and grow,
Strengthen us through education,
In the love we've come to know.

6. The Transfiguration  Listen...
Peter, James and John went with Jesus on a mount to pray.
There they saw the glory of God shine from his face that day.

REFRAIN:
Shining like the sun,
Bright as lightning,
Jesus had come
To show himself as God.

Moses and Elijah were with him; awesome sight to see!
And they spoke of his departure, which was soon to be.

REFRAIN:

Then a cloud appeared and enclosed them, and God's voice was heard:
"This is my son whom I've chosen; listen to his words."

REFRAIN:

Peter, James and John fell down, for they were terrified.
Jesus touched them and assured them everything was fine
When these three looked up, they noticed no one but God's son.
He commanded, "Keep this quiet till I've risen."

7.  Unfailing Love  Listen...
Father, your servants come before you in prayer.
Asking your blessing on the life (work) they will share.

REFRAIN:
May your unfailing love rest upon them, O Lord, even as they put their hope in you.
May it guide them and always protect them. O Lord, may their lives reflect your truth.

Give them willing hands that will labor for you;
Patience and wisdom in all that they do.

REFRAIN:

Lord, this we ask in Jesus' name. Amen.

8.  The Magi's Visit  Listen...
Bumping on their lumpy camels, Magi traveled from a distant land to meet the King.
They had seen his star in eastern skies, and packed the most expensive gifts that they could bring.
Gold and frankincense, and some precious myrrh;
Signs of reverence- none more princelier!

Bumping on their lumpy camels, Magi rode into Jerusalem and asked around.
"We have come to worship one who has been born the King of the Jews. Where is he found?"
Herod was disturbed; it was citywide!
No one was quite sure what this signified.

 Herod asked the priests and teachers for the birthplace of the Holy Child of prophecy.
They informed King Herod that in Bethlehem, Judea, was the place the child would be.
"Go and search for him, then come back and tell
Where you worshipped him, so I can as well."

Bumping on their lumpy camels, they continued, guided by the star of Bethlehem.
When it stopped where Jesus was, the joyful Magi went up to the house and entered in.
There they worshipped him, bowing to the child.
Jesus welcomed them- these gentiles.

Bumping on their lumpy camels, Magi took a different route than they had said they would.
In a dream, they had been warned that Herod was a fraud and meant to do the child no good.
Our salvation has not been ignored;
Gentile nations, welcomed by the Lord!

Like the Magi on their journey, may we always look up to the Star of Bethlehem.
Jesus is the Light of all the world, and he will safely lead us to our journey's end.
Amen!

9.  Do You Know This Child?  Listen...
 Do you know this child?
He's gone away.
God wanted him to stay;
He used to want the same.
But as time passed on,
The things God taught
Were not the things he thought,
And he know longer called God's name.
Now he thinks because he left, his soul is free;
He forgot that Jesus died so it could be.
If you know this child- some day you will-
Tell him God is waiting and he loves him still.

Do you know this Child?
She's gone away.
God wanted her to stay;
Within his house she was content.
But as time passed on,
The things God taught
Were not the things she sought.
Without a tear, she turned and went.
She is searching for another way back home;
She forgot there is but one: through Christ alone.
If you know this child- some day you will-
Tell her God is waiting and he loves her still.
Time is passing on,
And before it's gone.
Tell them God is waiting and he loves them still!

10.  God Can Use Us All   Listen...
To be a good disciple doesn't take a lot of nerve,
But just a lamb who wants to learn, to follow, and to serve.
The Word of God has told us to answer Jesus' call.
Don't hide and save
The gifts he gave;
For God can use us all!

REFRAIN:
Be a Thomas, Phillip, or Aquila, Matthew, or a Paul.
Be a John, a Mary, or Priscilla; gifted, one and all!
Be Apollos, Peter, or a Silas, Martha or Barnabas.
God has work for every single one of us!

The Christians in the Bible are like people here today;
All different kinds of characters that God put into play.
They serve as an example of what the Lord can do.
So stand and say,
"I want to play!"
For God can use you, too!

11.  The Potter and the Clay  Listen...
First the potter works the clay,
Spinning it upon the wheel,
Shaping pots a different way,
Each with its own appeal.
Like the potter, Jesus holds
Each of us within his hands.
Carefully, the Savior molds
Each according to plan.
Take my life, Lord, let it be
All that you can make of me.
Take my moments and my days;
Mold them all to reflect your ways.

Does the vessel made of clay
Have the right, or dare to ask
Why it's made a certain way;
Grumbling over its task?
Whether plain or fancy fine,
We are products of his skill;
Form to serve his grand design,
Formed to follow his will.
May the way God fashioned me,
Serve him as he ought to be.
May each moment of my days
Bring him honor and give him praise.
Bring him honor and give him praise!

12.  Come Follow Me   Listen...
You like to fish? Have I got fish for you!
Don't grab your fishing nets, because that kind of gear won't do.
Leave boats behind;
We're fishing for mankind!
Jesus said, "Come follow me!"

 REFRAIN:
Come follow me!
Come follow me!
Drop what you're doing,
Whatever that might be.
The Fish are biting,
The fields are ripening,
The banquet's ready;
Come follow me!

Got a green thumb? Have I got plants for you!
They need a lot of work, but I will show you what to do.
So don't hold back;
Why don't you take a crack?
Jesus said, "Come follow me!"

REFRAIN:

You like to eat? Have I got food for you!
Before you tie your napkin on, here's something you could do:
Go and invite
Someone who wants a bite.
Tell them to come follow me!

REFRAIN:
The Lord says, "Come on, and follow me!"

13. On and On  Listen...
Servant, take a look around when you want to rest.
While there still is work to do, you are not a guest!
Jesus said the grain is ripe, but the fieldhands few.
Now's the time for harvesting. Servant, this means you!
For the work of God goes on and on;
And on and on and on
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom.
The work goes on and on;
The Father's will be done
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom!

Everybody has a gift; some are blessed with more.
You might mend the fishing nets others haul ashore.
Minister or merchantman- each has work to do.
All believers on the earth, Christ is calling you!
For the work of God goes on and on;
And on and on and on
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom.
The work goes on and on,
Directed by his Son,
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom!

When it's time to sow more seed, don't think you are through.
God provides the faith and feed; farming's up to you!
When the Master comes again, robed in royal dress,
Then he'll say, "Well done, my friend! Servant, you can rest."
For the work of God goes on and on;
And on and on and on
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom.
The work goes on and on;
It never will be done
Till the last soul has been won
For the Lord's Kingdom!

14. With Joy!  Listen...
With joy I rise in the morning;
With joy I'm on my way.
Safe in the Savior's keeping,
I will begin my day.
He is the Guiding Force
That stays my course
And keeps it true.
And I look forward in joy to all I do.

With joy my day continues;
With joy I travel on.
In sun and shade I labor;
My God will keep me strong.
He is the Guiding Force,
The Light and Source
Of all I am.
And I continue in joy with all I plan.

With joy I rest in the evening;
With joy my thoughts I bring,
To share in prayer with Jesus;
Thank him for everything.
He is the Guiding Force
Who loved me first
And gave to me
The promises I know he'll keep,
A certain calm so I can sleep
To rise again with joy,
With joy in the morning.
With joy in the morning!

15. Jesus Is Tempted  Listen...
Jesus was led by the Spirit,
Into the desert to be tempted by the Devil.
He fasted forty day;
He fasted forty nights,
And he was hungry.

The Tempter came and he said,
"If you're God's Son, then tell these stones to become bread."
Man does not live
On bread alone,
But on the words of God.

Then the devil took him
To the high point of the temple in Jerusalem.
"If you're God's Son,
Throw yourself down;
He'll surely save you."

Jesus replied, "It is written:
'Don't put the Lord your God to the test'"
Then Satan took him
To a high mountain,
Showed him the splenderous world.

"All this I gladly will give you,
If you will bow down and worship me."
"Get away, Satan!
For it is written:
'Worship and serve God alone.'"

Satan departed, defeated.
Then angels came and attended to Jesus, God's son.
Jesus had won!

16. The Boy at the Temple  Listen...
Every year at Passover,
Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem.
And, when he was twelve years old,
As was the custom, Jesus went with them.
When the feasters had feasted
And all was completed,
His parents left for home,
Unaware that Jesus
Stayed in the temple alone.

REFRAIN:
Praise the child's diligence;
Praise the child's obedience!
He will bring deliverance
To us all.
(congregation repeats)

They had traveled one whole day,
Thinking Jesus traveled along with them.
But when they began to look,
He wasn't with his relatives or friends.
In a flurry of hurry,
Their heads full of worry,
They scurried back to town.
Sitting in the temple courts,
Jesus was finally found.

REFRAIN:
When his parents saw him there,
Questioning teachers, commenting on their replies.
Mary said, "Son, don't you care?
We have been searching, you must realize!"
But the child was sincere
When he smiled and said, "Here
Is the place that I should be;
Busy at my father's work-
Doing what he gave to me."

REFRAIN:

Then the child went with them
From Jerusalem.
He obeyed them perfectly.
In her heart, his mother
Treasured the memory.

18. It Was Very Good!  Listen...
God created light!
What a super duper sight!
He called the lightness Day
And he called the darkness Night.
When he was done,
That became Day Number One,
And God saw that it vas very good!

Then he said, "I know!
I'll divide the waters so
There'll be a sky up high ,
With enough for down below."
When he was through,
That became Day Number Two,
And God saw that it was very good!

Then on Day Three,
Made land and sea;
All of the fruits and vegetables created he.
Then he said, "Now plants and trees,
Continue making seeds."
And God saw that it was very good.

(Spoken) God lit the sky with a sun, a moon, and stars to separate the day from the night,
and serve as signs for the seasons and years. God spoke, and it was so. And it was good.
There was evening and there was morning. This was the Fourth Day.

On the Fifth, God said,
"Let there be birds overhead!
And from the seas, I'll bring
All the fishy-wishy things.
They'll swim and fly,
Increase and multiply.
And God saw that it was very good!

When the Sixth day came,
God created wild and tame.
He made all creatures found
Traveling along the ground.
The great and small;
He created one and all.
And God saw that it was very good!

Then God made man,
Called Adam.
Put him to sleep and from his rib he made a ma'am.
Then he said, "Be fruitful;
Go and rule over all!"
And God saw that it was very good!

(Spoken) God created Adam and Eve in his own image. They had no sin. They knew who God was, and
what he expected of them. What pleased God, also pleased Adam and Eve. They lived in harmony and righteousness in a special garden that God had prepared just for them. It was called Eden.

It was very good!
It was very, very good!
God had completed his
Universal neighborhood:
A perfect place
For a perfect human race.
And God saw that it was very,
Quite extraordinary.
Saw that it was very good!

19.  Jesus Is Baptized   Listen...
Jesus went down to the Jordan
To be baptized by John.
Went to fulfill God's righteousness,
As would a perfect son.

REFRAIN:
See the Lamb of God, believer!
See the Lamb of God!
He takes away the sins of the world;
See the lamb of God!

John the Baptizer protested.
"Why have you come to me?
I am the one who has need of you,
And of your ministry!"

REFRAIN:

When it was done, Jesus walked to shore.
Just then, the heavens above
Opened to show God's Spirit,
Descending as a dove.

REFRAIN:

The Spirit rested on Jesus.
Then God spoke clear and loud:
"This is my son, and him I love;
He makes me mighty proud!"

REFRAIN:

This is the One God sent to us-
Jesus, Messiah and King!
He is the Son and Sacrifice;
For us, a wondrous thing!

20. Escape!  Listen...
Joseph woke up in the dead of the night.
He said, "Get up, Mary! We have to take flight!
An angel has warned we are in danger's way!
We're leaving for Egypt and mustn't delay!"
And so, as the prophet foretold, it was done
From out of Egypt, God called his son!

Herod discovered that he had been duped.
He blustered and bellowed and called out his troops.
"Around Bethlehem, kill the boys!" Herod raged.
"And spare no one younger than two years of age."
And so, as the prophet foretold, it was done:
In Ramah, would Rachel cry out for her young.

When all who tried to harm Jesus had died,
An angel told Joseph, "You don't have to hide.
Return to the land where the Lord says to dwell.
Take Mary and Jesus to Israel."
Then guided by heaven again in a dream,
They settled where Jesus was called Nazarene.
And so, as the prophet foretold, it was done,
So we could have Jesus, God's saving Son!

21. Simeon Sees  Listen...
 A righteous and devout old man called Simeon
Was at the temple in Jerusalem.
He heard the Spirit say
He would not pass away
Until he saw the Lord's Christ come.

When Jesus' parents brought him to the temple,
To do the things required by the law,
The old man took the babe,
And held him as he prayed
To thank and praise God for what he saw.

REFRAIN:
Now Lord, you have kept your promise; may your servant go in peace.
My eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all.
A light to lighten Gentiles, And glorify Israel.
Now Lord, you have kept your promise; may your servant go in peace.

Said Simeon to Jesus' mother, Mary,
"So many in this land will rise and fall.
Their thoughts will be revealed,
And true hearts will be healed;
This babe will be the reason for it all."

A prophetess named Anna came upon them.
She knew what made old Simeon serene.
Wherever she would go,
To those who longed to know,
She told of what old Simeon had seen!

22. He Will Never Leave Us  Listen...
We are purchased, we are pardoned,
We are precious in his sight.
We've become a Holy Nation,
Through faith in Jesus Christ.
He has named us,
He has claimed us,
He surrounds us with his care.
Such a love would not abandon us;
Such love is always there!

Nor will he forsake us!

And we are not afraid!

That he lay down his life for his friends.
Greater love has no one than this:
Jesus Christ gave his life for his friends.

He has called us friends,
For everything he learned
From God, his father,
He has made know to us.

If we will follow,
The will of God

That he lay down his life for his friends.
Greater love has no one than this:

24.  Parables  Listen...
REFRAIN:
What is a parable?
It is a parallel story Jesus told.

There was a man from Samaria
Who helped his enemy
Because the man was robbed
And left in misery.
Though others passed him by,
The good Samaritan
Showed who is our neighbor.
It's our fellow man.

REFRAIN:

There was a farmer who sowed some seed
On hard and shallow soil.
And what the birds had missed,
The sun dried up and spoiled.
The seed that fell on good ground,
Thrived till harvest day.
Faith that's planted firmly,
None can steal away!

REFRAIN:

If a man has a hundred sheep
And one goes off alone,
Then won't the shepherd search
To bring the sheep back home?
And if he finds the lost one,
Overjoyed is he!
That's how God in heaven
Loves his family.

REFRAIN:

Like the landowner who hired some help
To work in his vineyard,
So God will have each worker
Share the same reward.
And if, for all your help,
You want a greater share,
Notice that the first will be last.
That, to God, is fair!

REFRAIN:

Why would you follow a blind man?
You'll both fall in the pit!
So listen to your teachers
Until you're fully fit.
Don't judge the speck of dust
Your brother's eye has shown.
You will fail to see the beam
Coming from your own.

25.  Heavenly Mansions  Listen...
Don't let your hearts be troubled;
The best is yet to come.
Believe in life eternal;
Believe the father's Son!

In heavenly mansions, our Saviors prepares
A wonderful place,
Beyond time and space,
Beyond compare.
The joy of these mansions, one day we will know.
If it were not true,
He would not tell you
It is so.
It is so!

Once we were born in sin;
Born again in Christ.
But life will just begin
In his Paradise!

We long for his mansions, to wander no more,
To dwell in his grace,
And see face to face
The treasures in store.
Ours evermore.

26.  The Lambing   Listen...
 On the green hills of New Zealand,
When the lambing season comes.
The vibrant sound
Of sheep abound
As the ewes bring forth their young.
As the ewes bring forth their young.

But many mother sheep, they die.
And newborn lambs die, too.
To try to save the orphaned babes
Is what the shepherds do.

They know a mother sheep rejects a lamb that's not her own.
And so, upon the orphaned lamb, a dead lambskin is thrown.

The mother of the lamb that died, smells her baby's skin.
And she accepts the orphaned lamb safely wrapped within.
Lord Jesus is the Lamb who died; life to us he gave.
For we are all the orphaned lambs waiting to be saved.

On the green hills of new Zealand,
An example has been shown:
When dressed in his son's righteousness,
God takes us as his own.
God takes us as his own.

27. The Beatitudes  Listen...
 Jesus went up a mountainside, and his disciples followed him.
Upon that mountainside he taught these words of wisdom:

Blest are the poor, the poor in spirit;
Theirs is the Kingdom of God.
And blest are those, are those who mourn.
For they shall be comforted.

Blest are the meek, the meek are blest;
They shall inherit the earth.
And those who thirst, and those who hunger.
They, too, are blest and will be filled.

The merciful, will be shown mercy;
The pure in heart, they will see God!
Blest are the peacemakers, for they will be called God's sons.

Blest are God's persecuted people
Who suffer for his righteousness.
For they shall see his Holy Kingdom.
In heaven they will have their rest.
All these are blest!

28. Confession   Listen...
 (Spoken, with accompaniment) Many of Jesus' disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
"You do not want to leave, too, do you?" Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him,
"Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are
the Holy One of God."

Lord, where would we go?
Lord, where would we go?
You have life eternal, this we know!
We love you solely;
God's son most holy.
This we believe, so Lord,
Where would we go?

Lord, where would we be?
Lord, where would we be
Without your grace and clemency?
Sin once enslaved us;
No other could save us.
This we believe, so, Lord,
Where would we be?

Lord, what would we do?
Lord, what would we do?
Earth has no meaning without you!
Help us each day to
Love and obey you.
This we believe and this
We gladly do!

29.  God Will Save  Listen...
God has loved you with an everlasting love.
Long before you were created, it was there.
So he gives this promise just for you,
And for all your children, too.
He will clothe you in his perfect righteousness;
He will show you just how very much he cares.
On your own, you can't come to him,
So he comes to you.
God will save!

For God so loved the world that he gave
His one and only son.
That whoever believes in him
Shall not perish,
But have eternal life!

God has loved you with an everlasting love.
Long before you were created it was there.
So he gives this promise just for you,
And for all your children, too.
Till the Savior in his glory comes again,
May each generation pass the promise on,
Bringing hope to all nations
With these words:
God will save!
God will save!

30.  Anointment   Listen...
There came a woman;
She brought perfume,
And as she stood by Jesus, she began to weep.
Her tears a token
Of sins unspoken,
And as they tumbled down they fell on Jesus' feet.
With her own hair, she wiped them dry,
And then she kissed and anointed them.
There came a woman;
She brought perfume.
Because she loved her Savior so.

There came a woman;
She brought perfume,
And in her sorrow, laid her sins at Jesus' feet.
He is the Savior
And he forgave her.
He said, "Your faith has saved you, woman, go in peace."

Her soul unbound,
What joy she found!-
Though others there did not understand.
There came a woman;
She brought perfume,
Because she loved her Savior so.
Because she wanted him to know.

34.  Prayer  Listen...
As a father gives good to his children, so God gives good things to us.
As a father gives good to his children, so God gives good things to us.

Father, we praise your name!
Your Kingdom come and reign!
Your holy will be done,
We pray through your son.

Give us our bread each day;
Forgive our sinful way.
Those who are in our debt,
That debt we'll forget.

Lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from
The Evil One.

Knock, the door opens wide.
God has good things inside.
Ask and you will receive;
Seek and you will find.

Father, we praise your name!
Your Kingdom come and reign!
Your holy will be done,
We pray through your son.

As a father gives good to his children, so God gives good things to us.
As a father gives good to his children, so God gives good things to us

35.  With One Voice  Listen...
With one voice we praise our God.
With one voice our praises sing.
With one voice
We rejoice
In all he has done!
With one voice!

With one voice we exalt his name.
With lone voice our worship bring.
With one voice
We rejoice
In his precious son!
With one voice!

Different faces, still one need.
God embraces each bruised reed.
Healed and whole, we all depend
On the One who rose again!

With one voice we praise our God.
With one voice our thanks we sing.
With one voice
We rejoice
In all he has done!
With one voice!
