Thank you for
visiting us. We are Ann and Neal. Are you looking
for a happy family to adopt your child? We are a warm,
open, loving, happy family who is seeking to adopt a child to
share our lives and our love with! We invite you to take your time and browse
through our open adoption family album.
Ask any of our
friends, and we're sure the words they'd use to best describe us
are: "warmth", "affection" and
"family". And we know they'd say
that these grow out of the very strong love that we have for
each other. We really do have an uncommonly strong
marriage. We know this next statement will end up sounding like
an old commercial jingle, but for us it is true - going a day
without kisses and hugs is like a day without sunshine.
For us, what's best for family always comes first - ahead of
jobs, ahead of hobbies, ahead of anything else. For us,
sharing our love and our happy lives with a child is the greatest of gifts. We
want to be the kind of parents who are there for our kids no
matter what. We really do have an especially warm, happy, loving
home to offer a child! Please take a moment to read on and get to know more
about us and read about open adoption. We invite you to write
back or call with your questions, we'd be happy to hear from you.
OUR THOUGHTS ON
ADOPTION: When we first got married, we knew we were meant to be
parents. But it wasn't until we found out about our
infertility that we realized that adoption would become our pathway
to parenthood. We have not "settled for"
adoption in the least, instead we have truly made adoption "our way" of becoming a
family. You will always
have a special place in our hearts because it is your great
sacrifice that will allow us the privilege of becoming
parents. We will help your child have a special place for
you in his/her heart too, by making sure he/she
understands your great love. We promise to give your
child a
happy, warm, open, secure, family who will love and cherish him/her always
and forever. And we promise you as open an adoption relationship
as you would like so
your child may know of your love directly as he/she grows up. We hope that the child who joins our family will be a boy or a girl
who is ages birth to three.
We are ready with open arms and hearts full of love.
NEAL: I’m
always interested in how things work and so I enjoy being a
mechanical engineer. I had worked my way through college
by working at a golf course - but somehow after coming off of
night watering I rarely had the urge to play an early
round! Now I enjoy working on our cars and doing projects
around our house & yard. I'm just finishing making
spice drawers for one of our kitchen cabinets. I enjoy listening to the
blues and watching
Indy car races when I get the chance. I am a great listener, am a very
thoughtful, compassionate person, and have a witty sense of
humor (although I think the word Ann might choose sometimes is
wacky). My wife and our adopted son are my
most important priorities in life. I feel a great
responsibility being a father. I am provider, protector,
and guide - I love doing this for our son, and I know I will
love doing this for our new child too. I am so looking forward to
being a Dad again! Some
of my favorite times include taking our son on a steam train
ride and going for a leisurely evening walk with Ann. I
wonder what I will especially enjoy doing with our future child?
GEORGIANN:
(I use Ann for short.) I’m good at explaining things and so
enjoyed teaching physiology before focusing on raising our son.
My feelings of protectiveness, wonder, joy, and head-over-heels
love that I felt when I became a mother were sooo much stronger
than I ever expected. I am constantly astonished at this
wonderful precious gift I have been given. I am just so
blessed to able to be a mom through adoption! And my heart
truly aches because I can
hardly wait to be able to share my love with another child - I
have so much love waiting to give! I am a gentle, patient,
caring person and I always find a way to make time for people
ahead of things. When I was growing up I was totally
into baseball until I discovered the flute. Click
here b
if you'd like to hear me playing my flute. (Depending on
your connection speed the music page will take anywhere from 3
sec. to 3 min. to download. Please be patient.) I'm just a
hobby musician, but I have had the chance to play at an art
fair, a botanical
garden, and even for a large charity banquet. In my free time I
also enjoy
sewing, gardening, reading, and trying out special recipes on
our dinner guests. (Neal teases me by saying that I manage to find a way to
use every pot and pan we own every time I try out a new
dish.) I also look forward to going family camping during the summer
and celebrating our
anniversary at a bed & breakfast every fall.
OUR FAMILY:
Our son Eric is an energetic, creative, generous little boy who
has just started school. He likes basketball, climbing trees,
stories about dinosaurs and constructing all kinds of Lego cars & trucks.
He often asks when his new brother or sister is coming because
he is so eager to become a big brother. We’ll
never forget his adoption day, the day when he was placed in our
arms as our son. He is truly a miracle in our lives. We are
forever grateful to his birthmother, for without her gift we
could not have become parents. We can’t imagine loving him any
more if we had given birth to him ourselves. And we know we will
love your child just as much! In our family your child
will be assured of getting all the benefits of having a big brother.
Yet your child will still get many of the benefits of being an only
child - such as having Ann all to him/herself while
Eric is in school. Our home and our hearts are so ready for another child to love.
OUR
MARRIAGE: We met when we were in college while playing
volleyball with friends on Saturday nights. We planned a fall
wedding so we could enjoy the autumn colors on our honeymoon
at a little cottage on a lake. Well, the leaves were
gone and it snowed instead, but we had great fun anyway hiking
back trails looking for waterfalls! Our marriage has been very
strong these past thirteen years because we have based it on trust in God and trust in
each other. We love each other very much and are each others
best friend. We have used the challenges that life brings
our way to grow closer together. We are
so very
happy together!
OUR LIFESTYLE:
The focus of our life is our family. We like to build leaf piles
to jump in and go on
hayrides in the fall. In winter we like to build snowmen
and go snowshoeing. We like to go on hikes in
the springtime, and splash at the waterpark in the summer.
We
value our time as a family and look forward to such times as a quiet Saturday
night curled up together for a “popcorn movie night” as
Eric likes to say. We enjoy getting together with family and
friends for Packer parties, cookouts, birthdays & holidays
or just for the fun of being together. And we look forward to
vacationing every summer in northern Wisconsin with our
extended family. We also look forward to planning rambling
summer trips across the country with our children someday to see our
nation's great natural wonders and to visit its historical
sites.
OUR HOME: We live
close to parks, a great zoo, museums, bike trails, and Lake Michigan. Our
home is a comfortable four bedroom ranch set into the side of a
hill next to a natural area. The nursery looks out over the
playset and the trees beyond. On moonlit nights in winter we can
watch the deer bedding down in our yard. We look forward to
standing at the nursery window to point them out before
whispering I love you in a little ear and kissing a soft little
cheek good night.
We have so much
love waiting for always and forever to give a child. We know
that we are the right family for someone’s child. Could it be
yours? Only you can know for sure. We know that in the end
the right people will find each other because we believe that
God has a hand in bringing families together in an open
adoption. Our hearts go out to you and may God’s hand guide
you as you choose that exactly special just right family for your
child.
