Newport Update
We found a problem with the program recognizing certain dates. I'm sorry for the error. Click on the link below to download the 10/10/00 update to your Newport Investment Management Program.
This update corrects the "Type Mismatch" error encountered on 10/10/00 and other dates.
It is a replacement file for WINPORT.EXE. After downloading it copy it into your Newport folder replacing
the existing WINPORT.EXE.
This is not a self extracting file so don't try to double click it. Just copy it into your Newport folder
and your program should work OK.
Here's some directions in case you're not sure how to do this:
- Windows will ask whether you want to open the program or save it. Select Save.
When it asks where to save it you have a couple of choices:
- If you have Newport installed just once you can download it directly into that folder,
and you're ready to go.
- If you have Newport installed multiple times I would suggest you save it to the desktop or a floppy in your A: drive, and then do the following:
- After you have it saved, locate the file and right click on it.
- When the box comes up select "Copy".
- Next locate your Newport folder either in My Computer or Windows Explorer and right click on it.
- When the box comes up select "Paste".
- A window will come up asking if you want to replace the old one with the new one. Say yes.
- Do this with each folder where you have Newport installed.
