The 2, 3 and 4 week lockout rates can translate to substantial savings over normal booked hours.

Scheduled hours during the week (Monday thru Friday) are from 7:00pm-1:00am. On the weekend, hours are from 10:00am-6:00pm. Under a normal schedule, 4 hours a day during the week plus 6 hours a day Saturday and Sunday would relate to 32 hours a week booked.

One of the greatest benefits for a project to lock out the studio is due to the fact that every day you are mixing to some extent, and it is very easy, especially during mixdown, to make changes to mixes after you have had a chance to review at home. You are the only client in the studio during a lock out, so each day, after initial setup, is extremely productive as you can basically walk in and play! Not only that, but it is really nice to be able to finish your project and within 6-8 weeks from the time you start you can have your product on the streets for sale!

Many studios offer "day rates" which are constructed to be economic only if you spend 10-12 hours per day to get your session down. At Nexus we feel that, from experience over the years, the fatigue factor in this kind of scenario negates the creative aspect of recording, therefore making the process a stressful situation rather than a creative one. By breaking the sessions up into shorter hours, you maximize your performance ability as well as get time to review the day" to make sure you are happy with your progress. In the day rate scenario, many times there are people who are just "sitting around" for hours until they can play, in a sense "benched" until their chance to bat comes up. If you have never done this, this is extremely hard to play effectively after this kind of time of doing nothing but sifting around. What Nexus is trying to do with the Lock Out scheduling scenario is to not only offer a savings to you, but also provide a means to capture you at your best performance, and have created this "package" for that very reason.

Graphics and Artwork/CD ROM Mastering / Development

Since both of these topics are very specific to client needs, we will quote on each job on an individual basis. We will review the overall printing and printing prep costs, so as to educate you to all the miscellaneous costs associated with this part of your project. At that time you can gear your design considerations (1 color, 2 color, 4 color, etc) based upon all the facts. CD ROM work is at a pioneering stage, and depending upon what your needs are, we need to again review all the parameters on an individual basis.

Terms and Conditions

1. All projects must be scheduled in advance. Allow 3-6 weeks.
   
2. All projects over 15 hours are allowed (1) free production meeting up to 60 min. long.
   
3. All projects have a one time free setup allocation up to 60 minutes.
   
4. Projects with a duration of more than 5 days in a 7 day period must pay 50% deposit to secure time and the balance must be paid a prior to the actual session date. Two week (1 4 DAYS) notification must be given to cancel or forfeit security deposit.
   
5. Projects or demos that are scheduled as individual days must give 72 hour notification of cancellation or forfeit deposit.
   
6. ALL BALANCES DUE MUST BE PAID IMMEDIATELY ON A DAILY BASIS unless other conditions have been arranged in writing.
   
7. Client may buy their own materials as long as it conforms to the Studio Specification. Call for specific details.
   
8. Person responsible and liable for payment to Nexus will be person listed on invoice.
   
9. Nexus will store master tapes free of charge; however, client understands that Nexus assumes no liability for damages for said master.
   
10. All legal obligations and responsibilities for material recorded at Nexus relative to copyright, publishing, mechanical rights, etc. are the responsibility of the client.
    
11. Bounced / bad checks carry a $30 fee; Nexus reserves the right to demand cash payment in such cases and that all payments be made in advance in cash prior to booking additional time.
    
12. Master tapes and other related media will not be released to the client prior to settling the account in full.
    
13. Nexus reserves the right to deny reserving time to any client it feels it cannot work with equitably or financially.
    
14. Projects which Lock Out the studio for a period of time with special rate consideration will have this agreement done in writing with all terms defined and may be separate to those listed here.
