Research Interests:

Dr. Hamsher’s research has involved investigations of disturbances of thought, memory, attention, perception, language, and intelligence, as well as the effects of brain trauma, HIV infection, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, stereotaxic brain surgery, stroke and tumor, depression, eating disorders, and Huntington disease on these and other neuropsychologic functions and their interaction with the effects of aging. Dr. Hamsher’s research also has included the development of a variety of instruments and techniques for the assay of brain functions, their localization, and the detection of brain disease. Many of these are published by Oxford University Press and are distributed worldwide. [For more information, see Inventions].
