At Midnight, in winter | The branch bent under |
The cold floor | Jump into the sea |
thawing snowman | a dead robin |
white lilacs in lacy garb | Summer storm |
Startled ! | dried out and drifting |
majestic antlers | the crow has flown away |

Motorcycling in the 70's (Triumph 650 TR6,green w/gold leaf trim). BTW, I still have this bike! Snowmobiling consumed a lot of time in the 80's. Raced for Rupp, in the amatuer class. Also did some hobby stock racing at the local blacktop oval. I have some dusty trophys in the basement. Odd, how these things are so transient.Camping, hunting and shooting skills were lovingly nurtured by my father from the age of 6. I love the northwoods outdoors and actively support the NRA in it's unwavering pursuit of freedom for all of us. Fishing is enthusiastically encouraged by my brother, although I am a real putz unless he drags me out of bed and takes me to the fish!
I love to travel, have been to 3 continents, and traveled to or through every State in the USA. This was promoted by my family out of necessity since living in the midwest placed us far away from our southern roots and the rest of our family. I still love to travel, unless it's for business. Will continue to explore the world at every opportunity. If I can survive to retirement, the natural world will be my playground. The plan is to be un-encumbered by an excess of material possessions - - especially mechanical transportation.
I admit I am addicted to the Internet, primarily digging and rooting around. It fits in naturally with my constant quest for knowledge. Perhaps someday I might actually realize wisdom. I tend to reflect on it from a zen point of view though. The journey is the answer. Working on my OS/2 certification is painfully slow. Far too much time is spent working to gather food and maintain shelter , sigh! Maintaining the Web Site project does consume a moderate amount of my time. However, I do manage to roar around on the Jetski, my current toy, and terrorize helpless sudo "nature loving" kayaker yuppies. Snicker Who knows though, perhaps someday *I too* may take up Kayaking and retire my little green canoe. Last but not least, the persistent on-going renovation of the Northwoods Cabin is my true love. It provides therapy and solice and fulfills a great need to return to nature.
