Our agency is committed to finding homes for the many children housed in institutional orphanages in Eastern Europe. The parents with whom we work are open to dealing with the more typical developmental and health issues common in institutionalized children. However, occasionally the children referred to our agency have needs that go somewhat beyond the typical needs of the majority of the children who are referred to us. While we feel that all of our parents are very special people who come to this process with an open heart and much to give, these children will need parents who are willing to risk a bit more, open their hearts a bit wider, and feel very confident and determined to commit their lives to these special children. These children are healthy now and chances are good they will stay healthy, in spite a medical issue in the child's medical file or biological heritage.
