Just
an update…
There
is no new law governing international adoptions in Romania yet.
However
things are moving the right direction, and it has been decided that the new law
will be passed as an emergency ordinance. In other words there will be no
waiting time or delays once the law is finalized. A meeting to finalize the law
took place recently.
The
law is expected to be passed no later than October.
We
would like to have all files fully or partially prepared and ready to be
submitted as soon as the new office accepts new files.
Some
changes in the procedure are expected, but I do anticipate that new adoption
cases will move quite fast in the first months, due to the large number of
children available for adoption at the present time.
Sincerely,
